Project Zulu is gearing up for an exciting 2025, and we can't wait to share our plans with you!
First up, we’re delighted to announce that in February, seven PGCE Secondary students will be heading to South Africa. They’ll spend two weeks teaching alongside local educators at three of our partner high schools in Richards Bay.
In May, we’re ecstatic to welcome the sixth Project Zulu choir to the UK on Saturday, the 17th. Comprising 20 pupils from Sipheni Senior Primary School and Sithobelumthetho Primary School in Madadeni Township, the choir promises an unforgettable spectacle with their talented singing, traditional Zulu dancing, and vibrant costumes.
Throughout the three-week tour, the choir will perform at various venues across Bristol and the Southwest. Every penny raised will go directly back to their schools in South Africa to support further educational developments. The tour will culminate in a grand finale concert at the Bristol Beacon, the largest concert venue in the Southwest of England, boasting a capacity of nearly 1700.
When they’re not performing, the choir will visit primary and secondary schools across Bristol, offering cultural workshops and exchange opportunities. Generous hosts across Bristol will open their homes to the choir, providing yet another enriching cultural exchange experience.
Looking ahead to July and August, over 40 UWE Bristol students and staff will return to Madadeni and Dundee townships to volunteer across six impactful projects.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Stay tuned for more updates!
